Boxing day at Port Aransas

We head up to San Antonio tomorrow so this is the last chance for oceanfront walking for a while. Far from the stores. Just a short drive south from Portland to Port Aransas and the car ferry to Mustang Island.

There we found the longest flattest white sand beach we’ve ever seen. 

The weather was a bit cool (50’s) but sunny and clear. We ended up walking for a couple of hours in these perfect conditions. You can drive for miles on the beach and camping is allowed almost anywhere for a small fee. Next time we’re on the Texas Gulf Coast we plan to camp here for sure.
