Starting out November 15th 2012

Confessions first. We are living in our 24th home which would be fine if we were 168 years old (assuming the average Canadian moves every 7 years).
We're not.
We started off camping with a leaky tent. Didn't take long to end up in a trailer (old heavy 17' 3500lb lightweight), then another (tiny sweaty Boler), then another (getting there - 15' Trillium), then another (brand new 21' Gazelle queen bed - ah the luxury!). Interspersed were a couple of oldish motorhomes - a B class 17' Bantam (sweet but small) and a wheezy 24' class C (with complimentary living room shower). All were useful for keeping us mostly out of the elements but not one of them left an emotional mark when they were sold. And somewhere along the line we tried a land based cottage for a few years. No wheels. Too heavy to move. Gone.
Finally we fixed on the A class motorhome as the platform for our wanderlust - we started with a 26' Rexhall Vision which seemed fine until we decided to take a 5 month long trip when we (mostly) retired this year. Since T-Rex had no couch or slide we decided to upgrade to a 30' Winnebago SightSeer in May. We are becoming fond of the Winnie (no name yet).
The grand plan is to set out mid November for New Orleans and work our way westward to Yuma Arizona for Christmas, hang out in Arizona and go to Quartzite for the January RV show. We also think we'll head out to San Diego and eventually hit Las Vegas.
There will be pictures (on photobucket.com) with a link in this blog as we load them. Updates will be sporadic - we'll try to share as soon as possible.
I (Glenn) am not a writer by trade or nature. If you can stand the limitations of this blog I'll try to make it worth your while with nice pictures.
