2 April 2014 They
got to "dead it up" in New Orleans
Due to minor issues with water (hurricanes, flash floods,
levee breaches, etc..) burial above ground was the norm in New Orleans. You knew that. So did Norene and
for as long as I can remember she wanted to see Saint Louis Cemetery Number one

Don't take my picture yet. Oh crap. OK it's fine there are people coming. |
We jumped on the Hop On Hop Off tour bus which allows you to
debark/embark at many stops throughout the city all day (you can buy a weekly
pass like we did for $39 each with 15% off for seniors). Cool ride when the weather
is warm. Topside is best of course.

There it is! Quick get off the bus! |
We self toured the cemetery. No admission charge. Many
graves are well marked and we even recognized some famous names.

Nicholas Cage's place. He wasn't in. |

Biznis is Business. Here's proof. |
I was done by the pyramid. Norene enjoyed looking longer
than I but that made sense since she had waited so long to see this place. Had
to keep walking to get out anyway.
We also happened upon Lafayette Cemetery No. 1 when we were
wandering the Garden District. Since we’re
on this grave subject here are a couple of shots:
Place was just closing when we came to the entrance. Too bad
– there was a bar across the street so we both would have had a place to go.
