BC Day Trips (from Aldergrove)

30 September 2014   White Rock B

Wheehaw! A sunny day! Let’s go to the coast!
So we did. On the Fraser Highway over to White Rock which is only about 18 miles away. Avoiding Vancouver but not all traffic since part of it is 2 lane only. No biggie since we had no schedule. Walked the seaside and the pier and dined al fresco at a little seaside Japanese restaurant (knockout food). Drove the area a bit. Just like Kamloops - there are no flat spots near the sea and all the homes are built on a hill.

Yep it's white. Painted. Do not lean on rock - painted butt will happen (don't ask).

"How long you in for?" said the seagull
Yeah - that's a palm growing outside.

9 October 2014   Stanley Park BC

We sucked it up and headed into Vancouver traffic to get to the park since the only other option was a cold swim. Took the midget bikes since there is a bike path surrounding the park (8.8 official k). Bikes and walkers are wisely separated making this a relaxing ride. Too cool for bikini’s so I focused on taking high quality photos. As you can see below it would have been better if the weather was warmer…

Followed the photo hint and got a great picture (next)

Seagull wouldn't leave. Explains mermaid's colouration.

This is where the bikini's should have been
In case you get lost - helpful input.

On the way home we enjoyed the company of many folks on their way home after work. They were not as relaxed as us but a few of them waved anyway. They must have been really tired since they couldn’t seem to get more than 1 finger aloft when they were guiding us through traffic.

1 November 2014   Harrison Hot Springs BC

Way back in the early 70’s (some folks refer to this epoch as prehistory) I was sent to a convention at Harrison Hot Springs. This was during a time when I was learning my limitations with alcohol. At the time I mistakenly assumed a previous experience (not much is too much) was an anomaly. It was not.
I did not remember much of the experience and thought this little walkabout of the town would help retrieve those memories. It did not.
So here are a few pictures of a picturesque place I’ve been to twice and remember once:

Hotel. Don't remember it.
Lake. Don't remember it.
Don't remember it.
Don't remember it.
Town. Don't remember it.
Norene and some November blooms. Yippee! I remember her.
7 November 2014    Bridal Veil Falls BC

What do you mean CLOSED! We drove 50 miles (plus 3,000 from Ontario) to see this natural phenomena.

Let’s sneak in.

Norene finds a big tree. Wants to adopt it.
What do you mean HAZARDOUS AREA! I have to get closer to the falls to get a good shot.

Let’s sneak past the sign.

Wondering how wet it can get here? Even the live trees have green fur.
