This is a huge 1100 acre multi use park just south of Lake Havasu City. We went
for the trails, of course, and since we had heard there is a slot canyon
feature called the “the Crack” on one (the Yellow trail) we had to trek it
first.
Pretty well marked and easy to find. It leads from the
higher ground…
down to a wide wash start (back to walking on marbles). This
gets progressively narrower when you reach the meeting of two relatively hard
rock formations….
and narrower…
and narrower…
and narrower...
until you reach the 6’+ drop we’ll call the Slide:
I tried to get Norene to go first and catch me but she
wussed out.
We decided to climb up to the Blue trail and go around to the other end of the Crack so we could see the whole thing. This is a lot steeper than it looks:
Back down in the wash and going up the Crack we found these
awesome natural carvings:
Remember the huge Slide? Here’s Mr. “65 is the new 35”
confronting the demon.
“I can do this Honey”
You already know the answer.
Yes we did enjoy going back up and around...
