A thought provoking and deeply emotional blog entry by Glenn about camping in the Niagara Region in November

Friday November 8th.
As I sit here with the cool wintery winds blowing past Harvey I have only one deep penetrating question to ask: How many sleeps left ‘til we can point his nose south? Answer is 7.

Not that there haven’t been some great times while here with both family and friends. Last visit with Erika and Bob on the 5th included lunch at their place, a tour of Virgil and nearby towns like St. Davids and ended with dinner at the Garrison House.

The girls do a tea toast (is this legal?)

Bob serves the quiche (relax -there's chicken pie also)

Yes it is this warm - Norene only has 2 layers
Thanks guys – this was a great day. And if you decide at the last minute to head to Mission Texas this winter we’ll blow up the couch bed (seems like a lot of our stuff is now blow-up) and put something on the barbi for you. Sunshine and warmth guaranteed.

Speaking of warmth (that is the primary purpose of this RV activity after all) we decided to try out the heat pumps (front and rear) when the exterior temperature soared up to the low teens in Celsius.

Looks like an air conditioner - which it also is

These units are designed to extract heat from outside air that feels cool to the touch but is reputed to contain warmth. They work. Right down to about 3 Celsius (38 degrees F). So it seems like Harvey’s original owner knew what he was doing when he checked off this option. Noisy because they depend on high air volume to produce significant heat but that’s OK if you have lots of power like here and don’t really want to talk anyway.

Norene has found she can continue to supervise me with sign language.

Will this blog always provide you with such esoteric insights? Or will you be spared and find we have reverted back to modest pictures and pedestrian prose as usual. Perhaps while you wait for some paint to dry in the future you can come back to find out.

Are you now feeling a strong urge to own a heat pump? Sit in front of your fireplace for a bit – the feeling will pass.
