27 July 2014 I must confess to a southern Ontario attitude
We often hear about “Winterpeg” and picture the place
constantly under snow and ice with brief interludes of mosquitoes and spring
floods. Turns out they also enjoy enough sun and warmth to grow some nice
pretty things…
Found this one overlooking the flowerbeds. Followed peacefully with promise of candy. |
"Boy with a boot" sculpture. Closer look below... |
Won't put it back on |
Next to the floral gardens is the Leo Mol collection of scuplptures. Here are a couple of samples...
He also did a few female nudes. Not included here because I have a supervisor.
This is a well cared for park with plenty of room for activities
including trails running right next to the river. I am not going to bore you with shots of fields, ponds,
trails and rivers. Just proving I was wrong about the place and that they must
have a long enough growing season to be able to come up with the gardens
pictured above.
Wait a minute – is that the roof of a big greenhouse through the trees?
